Arbor Day Tree Planting
04/24/09
Another
great Arbor Day Festival at Kishwauketoe. It was
so wonderful to have 375 students, teachers and
parents in attendance along with Senator Neal
Kedzie, Representative Tom Lothian and Randy
Cooper from the DNR. This is our second year with
this type of event and we hope to make it an
annual event with Wms. Bay Elementary and Faith
Christian Schools.

We planted over 40 trees and several of them were very large Red Maples that are native and the type of tree that would have grown along a wet/stream area. This has been a very busy and rewarding week at KNC including a morning burn on Thursday, followed by an afternoon burn at the High School and a subsequent second attempt and a successful burn in our north sedge meadow area. This was followed by delivery of two loads of beautiful trees and shrubs that we planted today. Please take a walk along both sides of the creek to see the lovely trees that were planted, most of them funded through grants from the Lake Geneva Garden Club and Community Foundation Grunow Fund.
