2nd Annual Planting Day
May 30th was our second annual planting day along the banks of Southwick Creek. This  was made possible through a grant from the Lake Geneva Garden Club Foundation and the twenty KNC Volunteers and Master Gardeners that showed up to assist us with this project.  This is part of a project to stabalize the banks of the creek and to reduce erosion as well as improve the native habitat.  We were able to plant 3,500 Forbs, Sedges and Grasses along the part of the creek that passes through KNC.  The next phase of the project will be to improve the trout habitat in the creek and try to get trout up through the 500' long culvert that passes under the main entrance to the Conservancy.  We have spent the past three years clearing this area of invasive plants and trees and are now enjoying going into the planting and rehabilitation phase.
