Spring Burn

Just this
past week, we had a very successful controlled
burn and managed to burn the main prairie, a wet
meadow south of the prairie that has a lot of
invasive grasses in it, as well as the woodlands
and north prairie. Today we plan to burn the two
sedge meadows and perhaps some of the areas along
Harris Rd. In the future we will not burn the
entire prairie at all at once, but we were
advised to at this time because of the amount of
invasive plants that were showing up. We really
want to be more sensitive to the animals,
insects, etc., when we do our burns.
